The 7th Annual RTIEL Youth Leadership Essay Contest is underway!!! High school students (i.e., grades – 9 -12) attending selected high schools in Fort Worth, Texas will have the opportunity to submit essays to win a trip to the RTIEL Youth Civil Rights Leadership Tour, which will consist of visits to historic sites in the cities of Montgomery, Tuskegee, and Selma, Alabama. Various youth summit activities hosted by the National Voting Rights Museum and Institute and college tours will be taken, and the tour will culminate with attendance at the Annual “Bloody Sunday” Re-enactment crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge (see http://www.nps.gov/nr/travel/civilrights/al4.htm). The tentative dates for the tour are February 28 – March 4, 2019.
