RTIEL is expanding it’s Youth Leadership Program to include not only an essay contest, but to also include training in 21st century activism and leadership!
Up to 24 high school students attending selected schools in Fort Worth, Texas will be selected as 2016 – 2017 Trailblazers.
The students will participate in youth leadership training courses, participate in local community improvement events with RTIEL, and develop a Community Impact Project with fellow Trailblazers. Students may also engage in other community projects or service opportunities that are approved by RTIEL.
Students will also submit essays for the annual contest, and the top Trailblazers from each of the selected schools will be eligible to travel to Alabama. All students will be eligible to earn a $500 college scholarship with continued participation in RTIEL events through May 2017. All Program activities will be paid for by RTIEL using funds raised by RTIEL staff and Trailblazers.
